  On December 2, 2016 is the night our mother, who was 56yrs young, took her last breathe with my older sister and I beside her bed holding her hands and telling her to stop fighting, go to her mother and that we would be ok. In 1989, she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and had been fighting ever since then against this horrible disease. The night she past was only hours before we had an appointment with Huff&Lakjer to go over cost and everything else the following morning. They were contacted by the hospice nurse and came immediately to take our mother away. The two gentlemen who arrived were very thoughtful, caring and truly considerate of our mother just passing. The following morning we went to Huff&Lakjer and were greeted by Ed. Once we sat down and explained to Ed everything that had transpired over the last two weeks...we could see that this deeply saddened and touched Ed. Everything Ed said and did during that appointment we will NEVER forget. Basically it was left mainly to my sister and I to prepare everything for our mother's planning and services. I can not truly explain or express how we felt after leaving there...we felt so much loving care, actual human emotions, understanding and were able to truly touched by how Ed was able to guide us through everything since our mother was the 1st death we had to deal with in our lives. I don't know how much room I have to write but I will keep it short now...with everything that Ed and Huff&Lakjer were able to do for us with every aspect...we have falling in love with Ed and Huff&Lakjer. There is so much more that I could explain but I don't believe there is enough words to express how we feel about them especially Ed. It might be weird to say since they are a funeral home and services...BUT they have become an extension of our family, would use there services again if need be and will never forget everything they have done for us. We even told Ed that if we stop by to see him or call don't be surprised. I just wanted to write this review for anyone who might be in need of their kind of services, yes that is a business but from start until now we never felt that way. Thank you again Huff & Lakjer...ESPECIALLY ED!!! Sorry Ed, but from now on you have become a part of our extended family, we will be seeing us again just to keep up and bother you from time to time.

  I was really disappointed after prepaying for a funeral with Huff and Lakjer. They did not follow through with items they were to handle, that were on my signed contract. They were unprofessional, unorganized and did not follow through. That's pretty bad during a loss of a family member. I don't believe this business is a member of the Better Business Bureau so you have no protection. After they had my money for 2 years, they just cut items out and that meant, I had to do all of the running around, last minute, with no reason as to why they were doing so. Although, they did refund the charges for those items. But, I had depended on them with my contract to stick to their word. I had to work with multiple people at Huff and Lakjer who never looked at prior signed papers. One man yelled at me that he was just too busy to discuss the matter. They also work with a florist who delivered 1/8 of the arrangement with wilted/not fresh flowers from Rhodes Garden, North Wales. This funeral home also has no more than 5 reviews so this should tell you something.

  On December 17 2015, my 14yr grand daughter died suddenly in her sleep. Her mother and I turned to Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home to handle her arrangements. I had used this funeral home several times in the past and have NEVER received anything but the best from all of the staff. Their caring compassion makes the most difficult of times all the more bearable.
  
  Unfortunately my daughter and husband have been divorced for many years and the father and paternal grandparents live in Florida. Arrangements were made for them to view T in their own private time separate from ours, along with their family that lives local. You must understand that the father had not spoken to his daughter in almost a year and had not spoken to her mother in 9years. After their viewing, they had a gathering of over 70 people to share in their grief. They then went back to Florida and did not return for the formal service provided on December 28 2015.
  
  The arrangements and services provided to us by the funeral home were nothing but outstanding. There were many,many students,parents, teachers,friends,and family that were accommodated in a very professional and compassionate manner. I can't express how grateful we were that all arrangements were handled with such warmth and compassion in our overwhelming time of grief.
  
  Unfortunately our beautiful arrangements were tainted by a few disgruntled members of the father's side of the family who again have not spoken to or seen T for many years. They had already had their time and despite not being welcome were treated with respect by the staff. These people have sent the funeral home the ugliest e-mails and letters and even made a post on Yelp describing their horrible treatment and stating lies. This saddens me to think that they refer to themselves as family.
  
  In closing I just want to say that all of the staff especially Ed is nothing but professional. I have the utmost respect for the entire establishment and would highly recommend them to anyone who has suffered a tragic loss. There are not enough stars to award Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home. Thank you for everything.
